About the Author

Konstanza Morning Star (Washington, DC) is an ordained minister, certified medium, and national spiritualist teacher credentialed through the National Spiritualist Association of Churches. She is also a shamanic practitioner. Through her evidential mediumship readings she brings comfort to the bereaved and guides clients through thorny life situations. She works with an international clientele from all walks of life. Konstanza has taught mediumship and psychic development in the greater Washington, DC area since 2009. She teaches a weekly development circle in Silver Spring, Maryland, and is available to teach workshops throughout the United States. EVERYONE Can Do This!!

Using the systematic steps presented in this book, I now communicate regularly with spirit! Ms. Morning Star has written a thoughtful, comprehensive, honest, and simple guide that removes the mystery and misconceptions about spirit contact and clearly and straightforwardly tells you how to do it!

Below is just a sample of the many significant and informative facts and concepts covered in this most interesting and entertaining how-to book:

-Everyone possesses innate mediumship ability. The Introduction states: “Most people don’t think they have the ability to communicate with the spirit world, simply because they don’t know what to look for.” “By describing how mediums perceive the spirit people through the spiritual senses, I will help you begin to understand what to look for in your own development.” Well, she not only tells you what to look for, and how to reach your mediumship potential, she meticulously guides you, literally, step-by-step through a system proven successful by her many students.

-How mediumship works. Ms. Morning Star explains that spirit communication can be likened to the transmission and reception of invisible, electromagnetic radio waves. Spirit people are “. . . broadcasting at an energy frequency that the medium can receive.” And that “The spirit people are unable to broadcast through dense matter such as negativity, fear, doubt and heavy emotions. Mediums can be blocked from connecting with the spirit world when they hold certain fears, attitudes, anger, or negativity.”

-There are nine natural laws that govern spirit communication. For example, the law of conservation of energy states that “. . . the total energy of a system is constant, even though the system itself experiences internal changes.” So when a person dies “. . . the spark of life that animated the physical body is neither lost nor destroyed – and it does not forget its personal identity or life experience.” So “. . . in life you are spirit, just as are the people in the spirit world.” And, since “You are spirit . . . As spirit you can access the spirit realms, though chances are that no one has ever told you that.” Another example is the law of free will. “This law establishes that human beings have free will and that no spirit person is allowed to interfere with yours. No spirit person is able to possess or control you against your will.”

-Wonderfully effective affirmations are provided. For example, “I am open to contact with the spirit world” and “I am a clear conduit for spirit communication.”

-The author presents and thoroughly explains her dependable nine-step system for communicating with the spirit world, including relaxing the body (Step 1), attunement with the Divine (Step 5) and extending your awareness beyond your body (Step 7).

-There is an in-depth discussion of the roles of spirit guides and helpers, the difference between long-term spirit guides and situational spirit guides, how to contact them and how they can assist you in your daily life. Answers are provided to such questions as: “How do I know which spirit guide to call upon?” and “Do our spirit guides hang around constantly?”

-How to distinguish between spirit communication and imagination. This is perhaps the most vexing question faced by people developing their spiritual gifts. Here are just two of the many insightful answers provided: “Information from spirit . . . tends to be completely unrelated to whatever we had just been thinking about.” And “. . . thoughts . . . come and go and tend to change over time. On the other hand, Spirit messages are consistent and repetitive.”

-The importance of disconnecting from spirit people when a mediumship session is over. “Whenever you wish to connect with the spirit world, imagine that there is a little invisible switch at your temple. When you flip the switch to the “on” setting, it’s time to receive spirit contact. When you flip the switch to the “off” position, the connection to the spirit world is terminated until you turn it on again.” “This way, we can enjoy our life in the physical realm without constant intrusions from the other side.”

-Several chapters have question and answer sections inspired by her students, and numerous relevant Exercises and Practices are provided to increase understanding of the concepts presented and to enhance spiritual development.

I LOVED this book. Very clear and broken down into easy steps with tons of exercises. Instead of the entire book being all about her experiences (something a lot of "how-to" books do), she explains how you can establish connections to the spirit world yourself and the means in which you may receive information! Very useful and full of information. I would recommend this to any aspiring medium.

When I tell people that I lived in Medell�n, Colombia for four months in 2009 the first thing most people do is make some sort of cocaine/Pablo Escobar joke, quickly followed by some thing along the lines of “You’re crazy! Why would you move to such a dangerous place?”

The truth is that Colombia today is much, much different from the Colombia of the 80’s and 90’s. Drug violence has moved north to Mexico, and the low level war that the country has been fighting for the past 4 decades against the FARC (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia) and other paramilitary organizations has all but disappeared into the deepest parts of the jungle.

The fact that Colombia has changed so much in the past 20 years means that there has never been a better time to visit the country. Aside from its stunning natural beauty and rich culture, Colombia offers Spanish learners the chance to improve their Spanish by immersing themselves in the rich and varied dialects of the fourth largest Spanish speaking country in the world.

The goal of this guide is very simple; to help you improve your Spanish by introducing you to real words and phrases that you will hear spoken on the street, in bars, restaurants, and homes while you are visiting Colombia. In order to do this I have put together a list of over 100 words and phrases (with examples and English translations) that you will hear commonly used throughout Colombia.

But simply giving you a vocabulary list wouldn’t be enough. I want to empower you to improve your Spanish by helping you understand more about the language and the Colombian culture. I also want to help you improve by providing you with recommendations for authentic materials that I know will help your Spanish reach the next level. Specifically, books, music, and movies that I have enjoyed while living in Colombia and learning Spanish myself.

Finally, I didn’t want to hand you a 300 page book and say “OK, now just memorize all these phrases and you’ll speak decent Colombian Spanish.” Instead, Spanish in Colombia: Basics and Beyond was designed to be short, fun, and informative, while leaving plenty of room for personal exploration into the language.

loved and used text book from culinary school

This review is written by the person I purchased the book for:
This text/formula source book for bakery and bakers is a replacement for my original, well abused, loved and used text book from culinary school. I preferred to purchase the original edition so that I did not have to re formulate all the high altitude adjustments I have made with the formulas. I admit that theory and aspects of baking evolve and change over time, with introduction of new gadgets and modified ingredients, as the following editions of this book attest to. But for me, this text and its theoretical aspects, and unique layout for the baking formulas, remain true and applicable today. This is not your day to day home bakers book. This is full scale, bakery use formulas.

A must have for any baker

I use this book on a regular basis. It has taught me a lot and helped me improve my baking. One thing I have noticed, however, is that the ratios aren't always correct. There is also discrepancy between the U.S. measurements and the metric measurements.

This is THE book for professional bakers!

No professional bakery should be without this comprehensive text. Especially valuable for small retail bakeries.
Few small bakeries will be using more than half of the 700 recipes in this book, but I doubt there are many successful bakers who can continue if they don't at least consult this book when developing new products for their customers.
Wayne Gisslen is one of those few experts than can explain his or her specialty in public and in print.
Whether you want to find good commercial recipes or merely want to understand the fundamentals of good baking, you will find the text to make you a better baker. Home bakers be forewarned, though, scaling of recipes requires care and experimentation before one merely uses simply conversions as the taste changes dramatically when different quantities are used.
Home bakers can benefit from this book, but only if they use wisdom in scaling down.

About the Author
Al Santini has over 35 years of experience teaching automotive electronics, including 22 years as an instructor at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Mr. Santini currently teaches technician classes on vehicle emissions, including OBD-II. In addition to holding a master's degree in technical education and ASE certification, he is an active member of the Society of Automotive Testers (SAT), the Illinois College Automotive Instructor's Association (ICAIA) and the North American Council of Automotive Teachers (NACAT), where he has been a member for 28 years.

Useful for professional mechanics and home mechanics

Though its slightly an older version (2010) it is very informative about auto electronics. It is meant for training professional mechanics in the field, however if you want to learn more about your vehicles electrical system and how it works than this is for you. I bought mine used though which only cost me $10 bucks or so. The new textbook runs over $100. Also the author goes into detail a lot about the DSO (digital oscilloscope). Since most of these machines are out of the cost range of a home mechanic, you may want to just ignore those chapters.

I bought this book almost 5 years ago while in Auto tech school to supplement a lousy text we had to use in our auto electronics class.
This book is excellent in the way it presents the subject matter; also covers 'scope useage in a clear and understandable matter.
I looked a several books before buying this one; it had all the details and material that I was needing.
If you are wanting a deep understanding of automotive electronics and has to test and repair today's complex vehicles, this is the book to buy.
I finished my automotive program 3 years ago and have advanced to Master ASE certified with L1. This book gave me the foundation and understanding of electronic systems that I needed to build upon.
Get this book and you will not be disappointed.

Delighted The Edge Chronicles saga finally continues!

I am a HUGE fan of The Edge Chronicles - it could go on forever and I still would never get enough of it! I will happily buy and read every single Edge series book you two guys write for this series! I cannot hide my enthusiasm & excitement that there are more in the future! I live in the US, but went to a great many pains to switch over to Amazon.UK so I could read this book now, instead a hundred months from now when it is released to the US market - hey, a fans got to do what a fans got to do to make sure they are truly worthy of the title! :)

This is the most ingenious, clever and creative series I have ever been fortunate enough to read! I sincerely hope this will someday be made into a series of movies & that Chris Riddell illustrates it (real actors won't be as magical I'm afraid) - because one just won't be enough - however I hope it's essence is not twisted & changed the way most books are when producers & directors feel they can do a better job than the original authors & illustrators who created the series universe in the first place. |***Stewart & Riddell: Stand strong on this! Your fans are counting on you!***|

Sort of disappointed that we didn't get to find out about Nate Quarter & Ifflix Hentadile's adventurous journey descending over The Edge, and what they found there. Does the cliff face ever end, an if so, what is at the bottom? Our earth perhaps? Are we all fourthlings, descendents of The Edge-land ancestry? What did they find? And how does Nate have a sibling(s)? I thought he was an only child. where is Quint Verginix's knight academic picture pendant now? Does Eudoxia still have it? Is she & it safe still living on the Sanctaphrax Rock? Has Nate ever returned to her? These burning questions - and many more, need to be answered!

I hope the next book is released soon! I'll waiting ...

I have yet to be disapointed by any of the eleven Edge chronicles book. You loose yourself in the story and feel like you know eack of the characters
